THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE START OF APRIL. The transition from the Final Four and National Championship into one of the best weeks of golf in Augusta, Georgia. The events are great, but the theme song transition might be the best part of the week.
Going into this week, there is not one player that I would say is the flat-out favorite. Obviously, the two-time Master’s champion, Scottie Scheffler, is the favorite at +510. Although by his standards, he has not played all that well in the 2026 season. That being said, he is in the top 3 in scoring average on the year and still has a win on the year. He has felt like he has struggled on Thursdays with a scoring average of 70.5, which ranks 116th on the PGA Tour. He remains Scottie Scheffler and has achieved great success at Augusta National.
The other “favorites” like Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm, I don’t really love. Bryson would be the one to look at with back-to-back wins on the LIV tour in the last month. It looks like he is super in form and feels like he has figured out Augusta over the past few years. McIlroy has not played well in the early days of 2026 and has been dealing with back problems. Same thing with Colin Morikawa, who looked great to start the year and then had to withdraw at the Valero Texas Open because of back problems. The other LIV guy and former Master’s champion, Jon Rahm, has also won in the 2026 season and seems to be in great form. It’s going to be a great week, and I can not wait for Thursday morning. Let’s get into my Top 5 picks and some other betting props I like this week.
TOP 5 PICKS
- Ludvig Aberg, Odds: +1650
This is a guy who will bet on until he finally wins one. I think he is too talented not to win one throughout his career. It is probably one of the more popular picks of the week on sportsbooks. He has had a solid year, with 3 top-10 finishes and 5 cuts made across 7 events. Two of those cuts are coming in March, with a T3 at the Arnold Palmer and a T5 at The Players. In his first two appearances at the Master’s, he has T2 and T7, which is something I highly value. There are players this course fits and does not. For Aberg, it seems to fit him very well. My one worry is that he has not played well on Sundays this year.
2. Justin Rose, Odds: +3500
Coming off a great 2025 season with a runner-up at last year’s Masters. Rose has a great track record at Augusta with 15 top 25 finishes in his 20 appearances. He has three runner-ups included in these top 25 finishes. I feel he just loves the majors, and it has been 13 years since his last major win. For me, it’s been too long since he last won one, and he has shown that he loves this place. The more he plays it, the better he understands it, and I feel we saw that last year, where he could have won it. Certified good guy on the tour and would love to see him throw on that green jacket.
3. Xander Schauffele, Odds: +1750
This guy, each year, finds a way to be in contention at Augusta. One guy I would be shocked if he never won a green jacket. Scoring average of 71.30 over his 8 appearances, making 7 cuts. He has 5 top 10 finishes over the past 7 years, which shows how much he loves this golf course. He had a very solid 2025 and has played pretty well to start the year. 3 top 10s in 7 starts this year, and a guy who loves playing here. Would be shocked if he is not at least top 10.
4. Bryson DeChambeau, Odds: +1050
There is really not much to say for those who follow golf. He has found a way to play well at this golf tournament over the past few years. He has two wins on LIV in the past month, and it just seems his time is coming very soon. The one thing I am looking at is that Sundays at the majors have been a little bit of a problem. He is super competitive, and I know he really wants a green jacket.
5. Cameron Young, Odds:+2200
Maybe the one guy I would say is off to the best start of 2026. A win at The Players, a T-3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and a T-7 at the Genesis. Watching him play at the Ryder Cup last year, I became a bigger fan of his game and think he is on the brink of his first major. Only 4 starts at the Masters but has finished T-7 and T-9 in 2 of the last 3 appearances. He’s got something about him that I love, and I want him to keep his run of success going.
Favorite Props
- Justin Rose Top 20 +116
Listen, it’s not juicy or pretty, but I just looked at his resume at this golf tournament and find it hard not to see him being top 20. You could go up to top 10/5, but this bet looks wonderful in my eyes.
2. Jacob Bridgeman Top 20 +182
He makes his first start at the Masters and has been the best putter on the tour this year. We all know putting on these big greens is super important to win this golf tournament. I think he will manage this course well and give himself a shot at a top 20.
3. Robert Macintyre Top 10 +240
I feel this guy keeps finding his way into the top 10s in majors over the past couple of years. The weather is always a hot topic, and he is in the afternoon on Thursday. He has the ability to handle the wind, as we have seen in past victories. I love his grit, as we saw at the US Open last year, and he is playing great right now.
4. Matt Fitzpatrick Top 10 +175
Fitzpatrick is debatably playing his best golf to start his 2026 season. Has a win and 3 top 10s with 7/7 cuts made. Yes, he has not found great success at this tournament, but I like the momentum he is bringing into it.
5. Xander Schauffele top 5 +300
Xander loves this course and has played phenomenally. He has the pedigree to win majors and plays well under pressure. I think he will be in contention once again this year.
Masters is always a special week, and every non-golfer falls in love with the week. It finally feels like it’s spring for us Midwest and Northeast people, and it makes you itch to play golf. Enjoy the week, everyone, and please take responsibility.
